DEDE (pronounced day-day) is a fashion brand that focuses on showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of Nigerian talents. We are based in Lagos, Nigeria and all our clothes are made ethically with limited waste. We are promoting the culture of excellence in customer service and product quality from Africa by recruiting and training workers locally. Apart from improving their skills, each DEDE employee is properly compensated.

 

We operate on a slow fashion model by manufacturing clothing according to demand so as to reduce waste and ensure that every DEDE piece is carefully and consciously crafted.

 

With unique creative insight and a strong appreciation for quality tailoring, DEDE was founded by Dedeola Taiye Awoniyi. During her formative years, she scribbled, sketched and doodled designs on every surface within her reach. After graduating with an undergraduate degree in Business administration, she gained a rich experience working in the fashion industry in Nigeria and completed fashion school where she improved her knowledge in fashion design and tailoring. In November 2019, DEDE was open for business.  Dedeola's designs are a balance of structure and fluidity with a feminine aesthetic and she experiments with a range of fabrics to create unique silhouettes that complement the female form.
